MCD: Road work to be over by July 15

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has claimed all road development projects related to the Commonwealth Games will be completed by July 15.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has claimed all road development projects related to the Commonwealth Games will be completed by July 15. At a review meeting held by Delhi Finance minister A K Walia on Friday,the civic body informed that covering of Sunheri and Kushak drains to create parking facility near Nehru Stadium is nearly complete and only 7 per cent work remains to be done. The MCD has also been undertaking streetscaping of all important roads leading to stadia,officials said. These include Bhisham Pitamah Marg,the connecting road from 5th Avenue to Nehru Stadium; Lodhi Road from Nizamuddin roundabout to India Habitat Centre; Shooting Range Road and Surajkund Road among others. “We have told MCD that all projects should be completed with due care and caution to ensure perfection. Nothing should be left unattended while meeting deadlines,” Walia said. The MCD has spent Rs 912 crore for the Games-related development work.
