Internet shutdown in Nuh ahead of Jalabhishek Yatra

All liquor stores will also be closed on Monday till the religious procession concludes, said officials.

The annual religious procession covers three temples in Nuh — Nalhar, Ferozepur Jhirka, and Singar. Last year, violence broke out during the yatra, leading to six deaths. Bajrang Dal members and a cleric at a mosque in Gurgaon were among those who died.

To instill a sense of security among the public, a flag march was conducted on Sunday in the area in the presence of the Superintendent of Police Nuh Vijay Pratap.

Gurgaon Police conducted meetings with Hindu outfits in the wake of the procession. Deputy Commissioners of Police West Karan Goel and DCP Manesar Deepak Kumar gave necessary guidelines to maintain peace. The participants have been asked to not raise any provocative slogans during the procession.

Police have urged the public to not pay heed to any rumours.

Elaborate arrangements are in place, officials said. Fourteen duty magistrates have been designated to oversee the procession. Police said that commandos, bomb squad personnel, and CRPF troops will also be deployed at every corner.

“Impenetrable security arrangements have been made for this year’s Brajmandal Jalabhishek Shobha Yatra. The police will monitor every activity from the ground to the sky. Police, paramilitary, and commando personnel have also been deployed up to half the height of the Aravalli mountains, and surveillance is being conducted by drones around the Aravalli mountains and nearby areas. Additionally, continuous search operations are being conducted by the police on the Aravalli mountains adjacent to the temples,” said a police spokesperson.

Nuh Police are also keeping an eye on the city, Nalheshwar Temple, Aravalli Mountains, Badkali Chowk, Jhirakeshwar Temple, Shringeshwar Temple (Singhar) which shall be covered during the procession. The spokesperson said that videography of vehicles of people coming from other states and districts to participate in the yatra will be carried out, and they will be thoroughly checked to ensure there are no explosive materials or weapons.

DCP (South) Sidhant Jain said that drones have been deployed to monitor traffic on the Sohna highway leading to Nuh.

A traffic advisory has also been issued. Heavy vehicles traveling from Alwar to Sohna and Gurgaon should go via Ambedkar Chowk in Firozpur Jhirka to Mumbai Expressway and then via KMP Rewasan to Sohna or Gurgaon, Nuh Police stated. Heavy vehicles traveling from Palwal, Hodal, and Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) to Alwar should go via KMP to Mumbai Expressway and then via Ambedkar Chowk in Firozpur Jhirka to Alwar.

All heavy vehicles travelling to Nuh from various other locations should bring their vehicles to Nuh only after the Brajmandal Jalabhishek Yatra concludes, police said.
