The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has asked all Information Technology-Enabled Services (ITES) units that have electricity connections under the industrial category to voluntarily convert to the non-domestic category by April 30,failing which they would be penalised. The DHBVN had earlier announced April 30 as the last day for voluntarily change of connections to the non-domestic category. A spokesman of the DHBVN said on Wednesday that, according to the Industrial and Investment Policy-2011,non-domestic tariff is applicable in the case of ITES units notified by the government. According to the procedure laid by the Nigam for it,a consumer will have to submit a new application and agreement (A&A) form, duly executed along with consumption security and processing fee at current rates, besides a revised test report. As the consumer is required to be the legal occupant of the premises, proof of ownership-tenancy-lease deed will also be checked. There should be no outstanding amount against the consumer. We have already issued strict warnings. Action will be taken in accordance with the law, against those who do not do it voluntarily, a senior DHBVN official said.
