B.Pharma students were asked to do odd acts by seniors; accused on the run Two students of an educational institution were allegedly beaten up by three seniors after they resisted their ragging attempt on Saturday. The incident occurred in the canteen of Vishveshwarya Group of Institutions in Dadri. The victims,identified as Tenzen Jhampa and Tenzen Vencho,are brothers and students of B.Pharma. Sources in the institutes administration said they had recently taken admission and had come to the institute on Saturday to pay the remaining admission fee. Police said the two reached the institute during lunch hours and were asked by the officials to come after some time. The two decided to wait in the institutes canteen when,the police said,they were approached by the three accused. The three,identified as Peeyush Garg,Sachin Nagar and Praveen Bhati,asked the brothers for an introduction. Besides other things,police said the brothers told the three that they are residents of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. Police said the brief introduction did not suffice and the three asked the brothers to do odd acts which they refused. An altercation followed after which the three beat up the victims with iron rods,Dadri Circle Officer Rahul Kumar said. Kumar added the two students suffered injuries on head and face and were rushed to Mohan Swarup hospital. They were discharged after first-aid. Though the college authorities refused to confirm the ragging incident,institutes administrative officer Sanjeev Sharma said the accused have been expelled. The three are absconding and the police have filed an FIR at the Dadri police station on the complaint by institutes security guard,Satish. Kumar said in the FIR the accused have been charged under Section 308 of IPC which is attempt to commit culpable homicide. We have seized the motorcycle of the accused students and the search for them is on, the police said.
