Two persons were arrested on Friday for selling forged certificates and marksheets,to students to help them gain admission in universities. Police recovered fake marksheets,migration certificates,school-leaving certificates and fake seals of prestigious schools.
The men,Lallan Kumar and Narender Arora,used to give tuitions. When the students did not perform well,the men promised their parents that they can arrange forged certificates and marksheets for gaining admission in universities.
Police said the duo used to collect a hefty amount for this. Addl CP (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said police received a tip-off that a gang involved in selling forged documents had been identified. Following the input,a decoy was sent to strike a deal with the duo.
The decoy gave the agents Rs 20,000 and after half an hour,they produced forged school-leaving certificate of a reputed school in Delhi. Kumar and Narender were arrested and the forged documents and cash was seized. A case has been registered against them, Yadav said.
Forged documents and fake seals of various schools were recovered from the car the two were using, he said.
We are trying to arrest their associates. Further investigation is underway, Yadav said.
