The reason why the cut-offs are increasing these days is solely the grading system that our university has accepted . The sole purpose of such a rapid increase in the cut-off is that the state government has passed a law saying that no student should be detained as such until he clears his class VIII. This means every child in school has to be given marks or grades in order to clear the exam, which was not the case earlier. The trend of judging students on merit has taken a backseat due to the system, which has resulted in steady growth in cut-offs.
Now,this becomes a great deal of stress for students to cope with. Those names appearing on the merit list need not worry but there still remains a question for those who arent good at studies. The grading pattern in schools to the IIT is changing at lightning speed. Here the question of the quota system arises. Since this is one of the most repetitive topics on the agenda, let me bring it to the limelight…
After board exams have been made a part of the admission procedure at IITs,enrolments have gone up. There are about 1,200 students enrolled (for 2014 exams) compared to 515 last year. Students and parents have understood that it is difficult. This year the IIT entrance will be very difficult for students to clear. The growing grading system has many effects, Union Minister Kapil Sibal had told a TV channel in an exclusive interview.

Today everyone here is taking part in a race with a tag time,Life is a race, and I am here to win . And this happens with every individual.
In our 21st century, people are having more information sources in each field than before. But even with this information and distinction, grades in exam results, students still struggle to forge ahead in lifes race due to increasing Mumbai University cut-offs and their reducing marks, and the cherry on the cake is the IIT entrance exam pattern being changed. And many of them are taking this as failure and end committing suicides or loose their mental stability due to extreme stress. But,I think we should take this as a challenge and,act as an optimist rather than being a pessimist. After all We have many more struggles to do in our future and get spot light on us . Just the thing to keep with us,is a focused aim that we have to achieve. After all life is full of ups and downs.
