“The woman alleged that her personal belongings are still in Pramanik’s possession and that the latter was refusing to hand them over to her. The court will hear the case soon,” the athlete’s lawyer,Tuhin Roy,said.

He,however,said that Pramanik shouldn’t be too worried about the latest charge,rather she should now make every effort to get back her job with the Eastern Railways. “Pramanik has a strong case and if she moves properly with valid documents she will succeed,” said Roy.

Rlys suspend athlete

The Railways suspended the Asiad gold medallist after she was arrested on June 14 . In a statement the Railways said that as per the service rules,“any government employee,who has been in police or judicial custody for more than 48 hours,is automatically suspended”.
