Buddhadeb asks Centre to revert economic policy

Senior CPM leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee FRiday demanded that the Centre revert its economic policy in the interest of the poor.

Senior CPM leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee FRiday demanded that the Centre revert its economic policy in the interest of the poor. “We,the Left parties ask the Centre not to decontrol prices of petroleum products and lift subsidy on foodgrains to let the poor survive,” Bhattacharjee told a rally where Front partners were on a dharna against the government’s ‘failure’to check the price rise.

Stating that for last eight months,the UPA government failed to control the price rise of essential commodities,the former chief minister said,”We know that none other than the Prime minister and the deputy chairman of the Planning Commission M S Ahluwalia are responsible for pursuing the new economic policy which has spelt disaster for the country.
