At last,investors show interest in 11 govt projects

About 25 firms have shown interest in the 11 urban infrastructure projects,which the state government has planned to develop in seven cities on Public-Private Partnership model.

Claiming it as a “good response”,officials of the housing department said they were expecting that a developer might be appointed for some of these projects this time.

short article insert The projects include setting up of super-specialty hospitals in Lucknow and Kanpur,a multi-specialty hospital in Agra,a medical college-cum hospital in Meerut,a multi-level car parking area in Allahabad,three multi-level car parking area in Ghaziabad,two underground parking areas and a transport nagar in Varanasi.

The government has asked these firms to submit their Request-for-Qualification (RFQ) by June 10. After its evaluation,Request for Proposal (RFP) would be invited from them,officials said.

State government had invited offers for these projects several times in past 18 months but every time the response was disappointing.

“About 25 big firms in infrastructure development had attended the pre-bid conference. Apollo,Fortis,Max Healthcare and others had shown interest in the projects of super-specialty and multi-specialty hospitals,” a government official said.

“The deadline for submission of RFQ has been extended to June 10 from May 18 after the interested firms requested for the same,” said Arun Kumar Sinha,Principal Secretary,Housing and Urban Planning Department.

“The firms had pleaded that they require some more time to make and register their consortiums and hence they required additional time for submitting RFQ,” said another official.

Firms asked to submit RFQs by June 10 for township projects
The five firms,which have technically qualified for developing new township projects,have been asked to submit Request for Proposal by June 10. The developers are DLF for Lucknow township,Mumbai-based Sunil Mantri Reality Limited for Gautam Buddha Nagar township,Eldeco and Shristi Subash Ratna for Kanpur township projects and Super Tech for a township that will come up between Meerut and Ghaziabad.
