Bulandshahr: Anti-India pamphlets spark tension; two culprits captured on CCTV

CCTV footage recorded in Bulandshahr district has shown two youths scattering pamphlets carrying communal slogans.

Heavy police force was stationed in Unchagaon village of Bulandshahr district Monday to avoid any untoward situation soon after pamphlets carrying slogans like “Islam zindabad, Pakistan zindabad, Hindustan murdabad’ were found scattered there.

The situation in village turned tense after members of a community staged a protest and demanded arrest of the culprits.
Bulandshahr SSP Anant Deo told The Indian Express that CCTV cameras installed at village head’s house have captured footage of two youths riding a motorcycle and throwing the pamphlets. The handwritten pamphlets were photocopied. They are trying to identify the accused with the help of the CCTV footage, he added.

Gyan Singh, Station Officer, Navsena police station, under which the village falls, said a local informed them Monday morning about the pamphlets. He said senior officials alongwith heavy police force rushed to the village and seized the pamphlets.

On a complaint by local resident Shailendra Singh, an FIR has been lodged under section 153 A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) and 295 A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of the IPC.
Besides anti-India slogans, the pamphlets also mention about love-jihad.
