CBI gets nod for lie test on Raja

A special CBI court Wednesday gave permission to the investigating agency to conduct a polygraph test on former minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya

A special CBI court Wednesday gave permission to the investigating agency to conduct a polygraph test on former minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya in connection with the murder of Kunda Deputy Superintendent of Police,Ziaul Haque.

Raja Bhaiyya gave his consent Tuesday to undergo the lie-detector test.

The date and time of the test will be decided by the CBI and the experts.

The court gave permission in order to verify the allegations of slain DSP’s wife Parveen Azad,which the CBI recorded on March 19.

The court said in its report that even though the CBI has not provided any evidence against the suspect (Raja Bhaiyya) in the investigation so far,it is ready to accept the complainant’s statement and the CBI’s

application seeking

polygraph test.

Meanwhile,sources in the CBI said that the court’s order regarding the permission has been sent to the experts who will conduct the polygraph test. The agency,on receiving the schedule from the experts,will inform Raja Bhaiyya about the date and time for the test,sources added.

The sources also said that the CBI is in process of preparing the questionnaire to be placed before Raja Bhaiyya during the test. The questionnaire is based upon the allegations made by Azad in her statement. She had alleged that Raja Bhaiyya was threatening her husband ever since his posting in Kunda.

She had also alleged that Raja Bhaiyya’s associates,Rohit Singh,Guddu Singh,Hariom Srivastava and Gulshan Yadav,had attacked her husband at the behest of Raja Bhaiyya and later shot him dead at Balipur village on March 2.
