DNA samples of bodies to be preserved

The state police has directed all its district chiefs to preserve DNA samples of unidentified bodies found in rivers. “We have issued directions to all district police chiefs to preserve DNA samples of all unidentified bodies recovered from rivers…This is necessary to ascertain their identity,” IG STF,Ashish Gupta told reporters.

He said three persons were washed away in rivers in Lakhimpur district in past four-five days while three unidentified bodies were recovered from Sharda river in Pilibhit on Friday.
