Fearing CBI probe,govt tells STF to beef up case

Sources said the report containing details from the Lucknow Police and the STF would be produced before the court to defend the reasons for retaining the investigation into the murder case with the UP Police only. In the last two days,two high-level meetings are reported to have been held in the matter. While the first meeting was held on Friday evening among senior government counsels and senior police officers,DGP Karamvir Singh and Special DG Brij Lal held another meeting this morning. The IG of Lucknow Range and STF,Subesh Kumar Singh,and DIG Lucknow DK Thakur attended both the meetings.

When inquired,IG Subesh Kumar Singh said,“So far,there is no development related to the investigation into the murder case. The teams are on the job.”

However,sources at DGP Headquarters said senior cops held a discussion with senior government counsels who would be appearing before the court in the case. The police officers and the counsels discussed over the details related to the police investigation in the case so far.

Sources also said the Lucknow Police have been asked to draft a report containing details about the two FIRs lodged against the Family Welfare department officials and the contractors and their arrest. They have also been directed to mention in the report that the officials and the contractors named in the FIRs are suspects in the murder case,too.

The top police officers in the state have also asked the Lucknow Police to refer the details of the investigation done by them in CMO Dr Vinod Arya murder case earlier and also about the accused wanted in that case.

Besides,the STF has been asked to mention the names of the shooters who are on their list of key suspects and were presently absconding. They have also been directed to refer the details about the hardcore criminals interrogated in the case so far.
