Uma Bharti may not have been happy over the induction of Mayawatis former family welfare minister Babu Singh Kushwaha in the BJP but Kushwaha is going to campaign for her in Charkhari constituency in Mahoba district.
Under the banner of his newly formed Pichda Varg Aarakshan Bachao Morcha,Kushwaha will organise a Pichda Varg Sammelan in Charkhari on February 14 where he will appeal to the people to vote for the BJP candidate.
BJPs Mahoba district president Chakramani Tripathi confirmed that Kushwaha would be the main speaker in the programme being organised by his morcha to target OBC voters,he said. This will be Kushwahas first programme in Mahoba.
There are more than 35,000 Kushwaha community voters in Charkhari. Other backward castes like Saini,Pal,Prajapati and Maurya are also in large numbers there and they also have been invited to the February 14 programme, said a BJP leader.
Kushwaha, who belongs to Banda district of Bundelkhand, had joined the BJP along with another ex-BSP minister Badshah Singh in New Delhi on January 3. After his induction was opposed by many party leaders, the party suspended his membership until he cleared his name in the NRHM scam.
Kushwaha had then formed Pichda Varg Aarakshan Bachao Morcha to organise pichda varg sammelans under its banner to protest the UPA governments decision to provide 4.5 per cent reservation for backward Muslims within the 27 per cent reservation for OBCs.
BJP leaders say that Kushwahas programmes are helping the party. Kushwaha had addressed pichda varg sammelan in Basti and Ambedkar Nagar districts about three weeks ago.
