Minor booked under Goonda Act

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s court in Ghazipur has sought an explanation from the station officer of Kasimabad police station for initiating proceedings under the Goonda Act against a minor boy. The SO has been directed to file his reply within three days. SDM Nand Lal Yati has also quashed the proceedings against 15-year-old Rahul Rai. The matter came into light when Rahul,along with his father Prabhnath,who is a businessman,and counsel appeared before the court of SDM after receiving summons. Prabhunath questioned the proceedings against his minor son and submitted his birth certificate and other documents to prove his age.
