Missing minor found dead,cops suspect accident

A resident of 716 Gujjaini,Mohit left home to attend coaching class in the adjoining Govind Nagar area on Wednesday. He was expected to return by afternoon. “When he did not return in the evening,we started looking for him,” said Rama Shankar Awasthi,Mohit’s father. On Thursday morning,Rama Shankar received information about the recovery of a minor’s body. “We were shocked to find him dead,” he said. Rama Shankar denied receiving any ransom call after Mohit went missing. “I do not have any personal or professional rivalry with any individual,” he said.

Govind Nagar Circle Officer Prashant Kumar said: “Prima facie it appears that the minor has died in a mishap and the possibilities of a kidnapping-cum-murder are minimal. Rama Shankar is a driver,who barely earns enough to manage his family expenses. Therefore,we do not believe that the minor was kidnapped for ransom.” No injury marks were found on the body. “No FIR has yet been registered by the family. We are waiting for the postmortem report,” he said.
