NCW to hold hearing on UP atrocities

Yasmeen Abrar,Chairman of the National Commission for Women,is scheduled to arrive in Lucknow on Thursday to review the status of cases involving atrocities against women in Uttar Pradesh.

Yasmeen Abrar,Chairman of the National Commission for Women,is scheduled to arrive in Lucknow on Thursday to review the status of cases involving atrocities against women in Uttar Pradesh. She is scheduled to hold a public hearing around 10 am at the VVIP guest house and has called a meeting of departments concerned around 11:30 am. The NCW had sent its team to Nighasan soon after the incident of alleged rape and murder of a girl inside the police station premises was reported.

Rita Joshi seeks info on NRHM scheme

UP Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi on Wednesday submitted a draft of Rs 54,376 with the public information officer,state programme management unit,NRHM to get information under the RTI about the Janani Suraksha Yojana from the Lucknow CMO office. In a letter,Joshi said that she is submitting this amount “under-protest” as despite a letter on May 24 seeking information about the entire state in a CD format,she did not get it.

New V-C for CCS University

UP Governor BL Joshi has appointed Professor Hemchandra Gupta as vice-chancellor of the Chaudhary Charan Singh University,Meerut,for the period of three years. Gupta is a professor of Physics and Deputy Director (Admin) in Indian Institute of Technology,Delhi.
