The Bareilly unit of UP CB-CID investigating into the mysterious deaths of two Dalit sisters and involvement of their two brothers in a loot and murder case of Moradabad seems to be approving the findings of the district police in the case.
The CB-CID investigation so far has not found any evidence confirming that the girls were murdered while the agency has collected the corroborative clues indicating the brothers of the victims had executed the robbery and killing of a woman and her daughter in the locality.
The CB-CID investigating officer (IO) and the Moradabad SP (City) have to appear before the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) on Monday with the progress report into the investigation .
The NCSC has been monitoring the investigation into the case. The commission had earlier asked the DIG and the DM to probe into the clues which indicated the girls were murdered by a mob. The Bareilly unit of the agency begun the investigation on January 15.
The charred bodies of two Dalit sisters Geeta and Neetu alias Monu were recovered from their house at Kothiwal Nagar locality in City Kotwali police station area on December 18 and a case of murder was registered next day on a complaint of their mother,Rajjo Devi. The district police later had altered the murder case into that of abetment to suicide and arrested five of the locals.
Rajjo Devis two sons Rakesh and Rajesh were earlier named in a case for killing wife and daughter of a businessman before robbing the valuables from his house.
A senior CB-CID official supervising the investigation told The Sunday Express on Saturday that Rakesh and Rajesh had suffered bruises following resistance by the woman and her daughter who were killed by them. The brothers had later undergone medical treatment at a private clinic. The CB-CID has got it corroborated from the doctor who had attended them,the official said.
Besides,the CB-CID has not found any evidence so far which indicates the sisters were set on fire by someone else. But,the spot inspection ruled out attack by a mob or forced entry into the house from the front or rear side,he added.
He also said the girls who had not stepped out of the house for over a week following harassment by the locals,got traumatised after receiving the notice and they ended their lives,the CB-CID official confirmed.
