Following a High Court directive, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) demolished unauthorised portions of under-construction Mahanagar Yatri Niwas hotel in Lucknow’s Mahanagar area on Friday. The hotel belongs to former MLA from Faizabad Jitendra Singh Babloo. His wife Anita Singh is one of the owners.

LDA officials said they acted after the owners of the hotel did not demolish the portions on their own within the stipulated time given by the court. The construction, which started two years ago,was being done without getting any map approved or obtaining NOC from the authorities.

A PIL was filed in this connection by a businessman,Mahesh Srivastava.
