This is the second case in which the government has moved an application for withdrawal of the case against Tariq Qasmi. On May 3,the government had moved an application in a local court of Barabanki requesting to withdraw case against Tariq Qasmi and Khalid Mujahid,which was registered after their arrest near Barabanki railway station with explosives on December 20,2007. Later,on May 10 the court rejected the government’s application,stating that there was no public interest in withdrawing the case. The court also said that the government had not elaborated their decision of withdrawing the case.
