SO,constable arrested for seeking bribe

The station officer (SO) of Faizabad government railway police (GRP) station and a police constable posted there were arrested on Thursday for allegedly seeking bribe from the family of three persons after illegally detaining them.

The station officer (SO) of Faizabad government railway police (GRP) station and a police constable posted there were arrested on Thursday for allegedly seeking bribe from the family of three persons after illegally detaining them.

GRP SO Brijesh Kumar and constable Arvind Singh were arrested after being booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Kotwali police station the same day. Both are in jail.

The duo was booked on the complaint of Billu Yadav,a resident of Aliganj area of Etah,who had allegedly come to get the detained persons freed. Those detained were identified as Rajveer,Ram Naresh and Satya Sen.

GRP SP(Lucknow) Manoj Kumar said Rajveer,Ram Naresh and Satya Sen were allegedly detained by the SO at his residence for two days. He said the SO is accused of demanding Rs 3 lakh from the detainees family for freeing them.
