The Uttar Pradesh government has started construction of “Chief Minister Composite Schools” in 39 districts of the state to provide pre-primary to higher secondary education on one campus like private schools. The target is to build at least two such schools in each of the 75 districts, starting with one in each district. These schools will be equipped with modern amenities and technology-based learning, including smart classrooms, WiFi facility and CCTV surveillance etc, officials said. To be built at a cost of Rs 30 crore each, financial approvals and land allocation have been done for the purpose in 39 districts, officials said. So far, primary, upper primary and secondary education is provided in different government schools in the state. Officials said that each of these schools is being built on 5 to 10 acres of land. Every school will have 30 smart classes, a digital library, a computer laboratory, a science laboratory and a mini stadium and a large playground. They will also have skill development centres, proper housing facilities for teachers. The districts, which have been selected in the first phase are Sitapur, Kanpur Dehat, Hardoi, Amethi, Rae Bareli in central UP, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Hathras, Badaun, Baghpat, Bijnor, Etawah, Firozabad, Sambhal, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad etc in the west. Sant Kabir Nagar, Bahraich, Kaushambi, Mau, Ballia, Maharajganj, Shravasti, Ghazipur, Bhadohi, Chandauli in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Also, Chitrakoot, Lalitpur, Jalaun districts have been selected from the Bundelkhand region . Sanctions are in final stages for 10 more such schools in the state, the officials informed.
