85-year-old goes missing from old age home,authorities fail to inform police

It has been two weeks that Lajwanti,an 85-year-old inmate of the Swami Vivekanand Old Age Home in Model Town,is missing but the old age home authorities neither informed the police nor her relatives.

It has been two weeks that Lajwanti,an 85-year-old inmate of the Swami Vivekanand Old Age Home in Model Town,is missing but the old age home authorities neither informed the police nor her relatives. A missing complaint in this regard was filed on Saturday at the Model Town police station. According to Vickey Kumar Verma,grandson of Lajwanti,“She is my maternal grandmother. She has been living in the home since 2001. On Thursday night,her friend Suhagwati who also lives in the old age home called me up and told me that my maternal grandmother had been missing for more than 10 days. When I asked the authorities,they had no plausible answer.” Anil Bharti,President of the Ashram,said,“It is a big blunder on our part. I will take action against the two caretakers who did not inform us. I am ready to help out the family members of this inmate in the search operation. What I have been told that she was not keeping good mental health.”
