Sardar Panchii to speak to students on May 12

LUDHIANA: The PAU Young Writers Association is organising a face-to-face discussion with noted urdu and punjabi poet,Sardar Panchhi on 12 May at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Auditorium in the Students’ Home. The event will be presided over by Dr P S Aulakh,Director Students’ Welfare. The teacher in-charge of the association,Gurbhajan Gill said that the event will help develop creativity amongst students,who will derive motivation from Panchhi. The Deputy Director (Public Relations) Dr. Nirmal Jaura will anchor the programme.

Farmers to get training on mushroom cultivation

LUDHIANA: The PAU Directorate of Extension Education with the collaboration of department of Microbiology is organising a three-day training programme on cultivation and processing of tropical mushrooms at Kairon Kisan Ghar from May 18-20. The Director of Extension Education,Dr M S Gill said that the farmers interested in the course can register themselves at 9.30 am on the first day of the programme. The participants will be educated about the importance of mushrooms,preparing spawn,procedure for growing paddy straw mushrooms,milky mushrooms,harvesting of mushrooms and multiple uses of mushrooms. The technical coordinator of the programme is Dr P K Khanna while Dr Rupinder Kaur will oversee the proceedings of the event as co-ordinator.
