Gabria ‘to sort out intra-SAD differences’

After denying party differences for a long time,Jail Minister Hira Singh Gabria finally admitted that there are differences within the party which need to be sorted out. Gabria said this after SAD Councillor Jagbir Singh Sokhi,loyal to SAD’s Simarjeet Singh Bains,switched camps. Sokhi did this after his wife Sukhwinder Kaur was co-opted in the SGPC committee in which Gabria played a major role. “He too is from the same party and one needs to sort out differences,specially before the elections. We need to be united,” said Gabria.

“In a family as well,at times kids have differences with parents over some issues. So they are sorted out with communication and I am doing the same and will continue this communication with others as well,” he added. Gabria had faced stiff opposition in Atam Nagar constituency from the Bains group (within the party). “So fearing a loss in the elections,our minister is making special favours,” remarked Bains.

Gabria stated,“Party infighting happens everywhere but we are sorting them out. I have the full support of the masses because of the development works that I have carried out.So I have no fear.”

Meanwhile,Sokhi said,“Gabriaji has added the respect of the Ramgarhia community in the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee(SGPC) and I along with Gabriaji belong to the same community. He has appointed three representatives from the Ramgarhia community to this committee. So he has played a vital role.”

Sokhi denied being in any group after getting his wife inducted. Earlier he had missed rallies and functions at which Gabria was the organising head. “I am in no one’s group. It is one party and we are all workers,” claimed Sokhi.
