Harman Kaur stormed into the main draw with an easy 4-1,4-0 win over Shreya Kalia in the U-14 girls’ final qualifying round in the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament being played at CLTA on Sunday. Kaur won the first set comfortably with a margin of 4-1 before claiming the second frame with a margin of 4-0. In another match in the same category,Jaskiran Dhanoa ended the challenge of Simran Dhindsa with an easy 4-0,4-0 win. Dhanoa first claimed the first set with a margin of 4-0 before claiming the second set with an identical margin.
It was easy going for Himani Mor,as she scored an easy 4-1,4-1 win over Aasth to move into the main round. Mor claimed the first set with a margin of 4-1 before claiming the second set with an identical margin of 4-1. Richa Sharma also advanced into the main round as she ended the challenge of Harnoor Pawar with a resounding 4-1,4-0 win. In the girls’ U-18 category,top seed Gundeep Kaur of Punjab ended the challenge of Jahni Gupta of Delhi with a 5-4 (2),4-0 win. Kaur claimed the first set with a margin of 5-4 (2) before claiming the second set with a margin of 4-0. In another match in the same category,second seed Bhuvna of Andhra Pradesh ended the challenge of Deepti of Haryana with a 4-0,4-0 win.
