The city police successfully cracked a blind murder case on Saturday,which occurred in Jatana village near Sahnewal on July 31. Addressing the media,SSP Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill and SP City (2) Snehdeep Sharma informed,The deceased Gurinder Singh was killed by three men Gurinder Singh alias Gaggi,Jaspreet Singh and Narinderjeet Singh all resident of the same village. Gaggi in a fit of rage killed Gurinder Singh and as per his confession he did so for the deceased used to teas his sister and pass dirty remarks at her.
We found this body on July 31 and prima facie saw that a person had been killed by some sharp edged weapon. However after post martem we found two bullets lodged in his body. One body was in his head and another in the stomach. Later when showed the body to Jaswant Singh the father of the deceased he recognised the body as that of his son, Dr Gill stated.
Giving details of the murder SP,Sharma added,The deceased used to tease Gaggis sister. On that fateful day Gaggi and his accomplices called the deceased Gurinder Singh out of his home on pretext of some work. They then took him to an isolated spot and shot him. The accused then dumped the deceased motorcycle in the nearby canal which has been recovered by the police. We have also arrested the three accused and will soon recover the weapon used in crime.
On June 30,Jaswant Singh the father of the deceased had lodged a complaint with the area police about his missing son, SSP added. In his complaint Jaswant Singh had said that Gurinder Singh had left home saying that he was going to some shop but did not return. Gurinder Singh was 19 years old and the only son in his family.
