Hemraj Aggarwal (42) was today drowned in the heavy current of water in Sidhwan canal near the BRS Nagar bridge.
Hemraj along with son Tony had come to take a dip in the canal while they did not know how to swim.
Both were bathing sitting on the banks of the canal when all of a sudden Tony slipped inside to which Hemraj cried for help and he himself also slipped inside in panic.
While few others swimming inside the canal managed to save the child,However,Hemraj was drowned in the water. He was a daily wager and had come from Sunet village.
