Panth Rattan Master Tara Singh Yaadgari trust organised a function to commemorate 128th birth anniversary of Master Tara Singh at GGN Khalsa college today. Sikh scholars and leaders were present on the occasion.
The function was presided over by Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal. He lauded the role of Master Tara Singh in serving the community.
Former Minister Hira Singh Gabria also spoke on the occasion. Prof G S Dua presented a four-item resolution passed by the trust.
This resolution urges the Government to institute a chair in the name of Masterji in any of the universities in Punjab,to make memorial in his name,installing a statue of master tara singh at a strategic place and declaration of holiday by the state Government on the birthday of Master Tara Singh.
Dr S P Singh,former GNDU vice-chancellor,proposed the vote of thanks.
