Three engineering students, who are alleged to have indulged in cheating, have approached the Bombay High Court seeking permission to appear for an examination. The students, who are from various colleges in the city, say they have been barred from appearing in an examination, which began on May 17. They now demand that the Mumbai University hold a re-examination for them while also contending that there are several other students who are facing a similar situation. The results of the students were reserved as they were suspected to have indulged in cheating in one of their papers. In a letter addressed to them, university officials noted that their answer sheets were found in possession of a temporary staff of the university and asked them to explain the same. The matter has been posted for hearing on Monday.
