Maharashtra ATS has added two more names to the list of accused in the 13/7 serial blasts case. The two are supposed to have provided logistical support and facilitated hawala transactions for execution of the three blasts in Mumbai last year.
In a supplementary chargesheet filed last month against arrested accused Kafeel Ahmed Mohammed Ayub Ansari (52),ATS clarified that one of the absconding accused named in the first 4,788-page chargesheet was,in fact, living in his hometown Bhatkal in Karnataka.
Ubed and Farookh, who are believed to be in Dubai, allegedly sent Pathreja a message to deliver the money to Bhatkal, who received it posing as Shivanand. The money was allegedly used for the blasts at Zaveri Bazaar,Opera House and a bus stop near Dadar Railway Station.
ATS has so far arrested Ansari,Naquee Ahmed Wasi Ahmed Shaikh (22),Nadeem Akhtar Ashfaque Shaikh (23),Pathreja (46) and Haroon Rashid Naik (33) and declared eight others wanted.
It claimed Ansari was an active member of banned terror outfit Indian Mujahideen. According to the chargesheet,he attended several darz (lectures) organised by Bhatkal.
Ansari is believed to know plans and unlawful activities of Bhatkal. ATS has made his son witness and recorded his statement to show Ansaris close association with Bhatkal and one of the possible bombers Sheikh Mohammed Tahseen Akhtar Wasim Akhtar alias Tahseen.
The initial as well as the supplementary chargesheets are silent on the man who planted the bomb outside Antonio DSilva School,Dadar. The first chargesheet claims Danish alias Aadil alias Tabrez and Wakas Ibrahim Saad alias Wakas Ibrahim Shaikh planted the bombs at Zaveri Bazaar and Opera House. Tahseen,Danish and Wakas have been shown absconding.
The first chargesheet filed in May has statements of 641 witnesses, including that of the injured and relatives of victims. The supplementary chargesheet, however, focuses on mobile phone records and forensic reports.
