The State Transport and the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking, will offer additional bus services to avoid inconvenience to commuters during the proposed railway block from 12.30 am on May 31 till 3.30 pm on June 2 for work on the extension of the platform at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). BEST will provide 55 additional buses during the block that will include 80 trips from Colaba Depot to Dadar East via four buses and 80 trips from Colaba Depot to Byculla West Station via four buses from Dharavi Depot. Additional routes will also include 72 services from Colaba Depot to Wadala from Back Bay Depot, Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Marg to Pratiksha Nagar, Back Bay to MMRDA Housing Complex, and Antop Hill to Veer Kotwal Garden, among others. Similarly, the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation will operate 50 extra buses between Thane and Kurla Nehrunagar, Parel and Dadar stations in Mumbai. This includes 26 buses from the Mumbai depot and 24 from the Thane depot, with plans to increase the number of buses based on passenger demand. Additional staff will be deployed at Thane and Mumbai depots to assist passengers.
