Bhushans should quit panel,else Hazare should: NCP

With the Bhushans facing the ire of certain sections of society for obtaining land from the Mayawati government,the NCP has demanded that father-son duo should be sacked from the Lokpal Bill joint drafting committee or Anna Hazare should resign.

Anna Hazare has tarnished the image of our president Sharad Pawar,who has not been convicted of any offence… Anna has been making wild allegations and getting away with it, NCP state general secretary Gajanan Desai said on Friday.

Now the Bhushans,who are on the panel with Anna,are facing charges… Why is Anna tolerating it. He should ensure that the two are sacked; and if it is not possible,Anna himself should resign on moral grounds.

He alleged that Anna was a hypocrite and was on a smear campaign against Pawar. Pawar is known to have initiated development across Maharashtra, he claimed,But what about Anna… He has not been able to replicate the Ralegan Siddhi experiment (which transformed Hazares village in Ahmednagar district) elsewhere in the state. His work is limited to just one village.

He said no person could be held guilty of a crime just on the basis of an allegation or a pending litigation,and that applied to Pawar as well as the Bhushans.
