BMC nod for Omble statue

The BMC has given its nod to the statue of slain cop Tukaram Omble at Girgaon Chowpatty. Additional Municipal Commissioner Manisha Mhaiskar said: “We will meet the beach monitoring high power committee after which the location will be decided. We will also take a decision on the size of the statue.” The structure is expected to come up before November 26 this year. Tukaram Ombale,assistant sub-inspector with D B Marg police station,was killed by Kasab at Girgaon Chowpatty.
