Camera Call

Dhulia will reportedly star opposite Amitabh Bachchan on the show, which is a political drama

For Tigmanshu Dhulia, recognition as a director and as an actor came almost simultaneously. People who have known him well, however, have known that Paan Singh Tomar’s director makes for a fine on-screen performer, something the audience discovered with Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur. Now, Dhulia is set to make his comeback on screen with two projects, for which he will be shooting next month.

One is Nikhil Advani’s remake of the 1983 film Hero in which Dhulia has a minor supporting character, and the other is an untitled television show for Sony, which Kashyap is directing.

Dhulia will play the negative lead. He will reportedly star opposite Amitabh Bachchan on the show, which is a political drama. Kashyap, having nearly wrapped up Bombay Velvet, will focus on the Endemol-produced show once he is back in Mumbai.
