Constitution a weapon for poor, Modi trying to demolish it: Rahul Gandhi

Addressing a rally at the tribal belt of Paratwada in Amravati district, Rahul said that he wants to assure that no power can alter the Constitution. “This (constitution) is a power behind poor, oppressed classes, Dalits and tribals. We will not let this happen,” he said.

Alleging that the representation of more than 90% Indians including Dalits, tribals, backward class, poor from general category is missing from media, corporates and government, Rahul said that the present government wants to end the Constitution to stop these masses from realising their true power.

“If you realise your true power, you will ask for more rights because the Constitution is a weapon of the poor and Narendra Modi is trying to finish it off,” he said.

Rahul further alleged that Prime Minister Modi made 25 of his close individuals billionaires while Congress manifesto is aimed at making crores of millionaires in the country.

Promising farm loan waiver and constitution of a dedicated commission for farmers which will have the power to recommend farm loan waivers in regular intervals, Rahul said, “We are going to make crores of Indians as millionaires through these schemes.”

Speaking at his second public rally in Solapur, the Congress leader targeted Modi saying the Prime Minister is throwing lies in his speeches in panic as he realised that he is losing the election.

“PM Modi is scared because he knows that he is losing elections. There has been so much of robbery in electoral bond scheme, he knows that he will be facing difficulties after polls. He is lying continuously because he is scared,” Rahul said.

The Congress leader, in his speech, further spoke about electoral bond. “A company faces CBI raid, few days later that company pays crores to BJP and CBI inquiry is wrapped up. A big contract is given to it and then more money is given to BJP. A roadside extortion racket is being taken on national level,” he said.
