Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan requested the Opposition to avoid politicising the Adarsh Co-operative Housing Society scam as his colleagues in Central and state governments were co-operating with the inquiry.
Shiv Sena MLC Diwakar Raote raised an adjournment motion in the Council, regarding the names of three former chief ministers cropping up in the inquiry and questioned whether the CBI inquiry was dragging its feet. He was supported by Sena MLC Neelam Gorhe.
Chavan replied that Adarsh is a serious issue. Truth in this subject should come out and government efforts are on in this regard. Therefore no one should politicise this issue and not drag any names in it, said Chavan. He said that CBI was conducting an inquiry into the matter and a commission had been formed by the state government.
