Forty years of eating legendary burgers and enjoying live performances of some of the best bands in the world, even as Eric Claptons guitar and David Bowies suit look on: the rock and roll experience probably doesnt get better than this. Back in 1971,when the first Hard Rock Cafe (HRC) opened in London,no one realised the phenomenon it would spawn. It went on to become arguably one of the largest and most well-known chains of theme restaurants in the world and also amassed the largest collection of rock and roll memorabilia. The Indian branches are getting set to celebrate the anniversary, along with Hard Rock Cafés across the world.
Jay Singh,co-founder and Managing Director of JSM Corporation Pvt Ltd,which manages HRC in India, says,Hard Rock Café International will celebrate 40 years of existence on June 14. As a special commemoration of one of the worlds most iconic and loved brand,Hard Rock Café is hosting 40 Days That Rock across all its locations worldwide. In India, all Hard Rock Cafés in Mumbai,Bangalore,Pune,Delhi and
Hyderabad, will host events and promotions every day to complete the celebration. It is indeed time for celebration.
Unfortunately,on an occasion as big as this, when major performances by the worlds best bands are due,HRC had only organised a two-city gig in India for Grammy-winning British House act,Dirty Vegas. The band performed in Mumbai and Delhi,on May 20 and 21,respectively. Not exactly the hard-rocking act we were looking forward to.
