It was a quiet day in prison for Kasab

According to the jail sources,Kasab recited the Holy Quran in his cell at Arthur Road Jail until he was summoned for the video conferencing room in the jail.

Kasab,who was seen for just about three minutes in the Bombay High Court number 49 through the video conference on Monday,though smiled on several occasions and seemed calm,his lawyer who met him at least seven times in the past since the case came to the High Court for the confirmation of his death sentence,said he was extremely disoriented when she met him on February 19.

“On several occasions I have had long conversations with him. But on Saturday,he just spoke for five minutes and walked off abruptly. I wanted to tell him about today’s verdict,but he didn’t want to hear,” said Shah.

“I told him that he can approach the Supreme Court if he was not happy with the Bombay High Court verdict. He just said ‘fine’,” she said.

Sources said soon after the verdict Kasab was taken back to his cell. “He was given lunch,which he had. He was quiet throughout the day,” confirmed a jail source.
