Maharashtra SSC results 2015 declared, girls outperform boys in class 10th exam

The state saw a 3.14 per cent increase in the result compared to last year with girls outshining boys with a pass per cent of 92.14 as against 90.18 per cent of boys.

A total of 15,77,303 students registered from nine divisions (Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amaravati, Nashik, Latur and Konkan) out of which 15,72,268 students appeared for the exam and 14,37,922 cleared the examination. 1,53,401 repeater students registered out of which 1,52,552 students appeared and 75,262 students cleared the exam with a pass percentage of 49.34.

Sindhudhurg district got the highest pass percentage of 96.38 while Nanded division got the least passing per centage (81.13). The passing per centage of children with special needs was 87.46. A total of 50 subjects were there in the exam from which 14 subjects got 100 per cent result.

A total of 3,74,014 students got first class with distinction while 5,37,273 students got first class, 4,24,878 students secured second class. A total of 4,731 schools in the state recived 100 per cent result while 21 schools received 0 per cent result. The exams were conducted in 8 mediums namely Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, English, Gujarati, Kannada, Sindhi and Telugu.
