Mahayuti has decided on 278 seats: Fadnavis

Speaking to the media in Delhi after a meeting with Amit Shah, Fadnavis said, “Mahayuti seat sharing is complete in 278 seats out of 288 seats. We will resolve the issues in the remaining 10 seats in a couple of days.”

The Mahayuti has finalised the seat-sharing for 278 seats out of the 288 Maharashtra Assembly seats, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said Thursday.

Speaking to the media in Delhi after a meeting with Amit Shah, Fadnavis said, “Mahayuti seat sharing is complete in 278 seats out of 288 seats. We will resolve the issues in the remaining 10 seats in a couple of days.”

Chief Minister Eknath Shindeand Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were also part of the meeting that was necessitated following disputes over three dozen seats between Mahayuti partners — BJPShiv Sena led by Shinde and NCP led by Ajit Pawar.

Fadnavis said, “The BJP has already released its first list of 99 candidates. On Friday, our second list will be released.”

Fadnavis and Pawar went to Delhi late on Wednesday, while Shinde joined them on Thursday morning.

According to BJP insiders, “The jostle for seats will continue till the last date of filing nominations. The BJP has given weightage to winnability factor.”

The seat sharing formula emerging is BJP 150 to 155 seats, Shiv Sena 85-90 seats and NCP 50 to 55 seats, they said.
