‘Modi’s Guarantee’ will help Mahayuti will win 45 LS seats in state: Shinde

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday said the ruling coalition will win 45 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, riding on “Modi’s Guarantee”. “We will go to people with ‘Modi’s Guarantee’. We will go to them with the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will cross the 400-mark at the Centre and in Maharashtra we will cross 45,” Shinde said. He was speaking at the State Legislative Assembly while replying to the discussion initiated by Opposition parties on various issues concerning the state.

Shinde said while the previous governments’ motto was “corruption first”, the motto of the present government at the Centre is “nation first”. “We stand with Modi. The support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi shows that there will be a hat trick this time. Maharashtra stands behind Modi,” he said, amid claps and cheers from ruling party MLAs.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar said lack of achievements of the state government was making them depend on Modi. “Talking about Modi alone won’t get them votes. The state government is a failure on every front and it is forcing them to depend on the Centre,” he said.

Earlier, Shinde claimed that the state government successfully transferred Rs 35,000 crore to farmers’ accounts and that had it been the previous government, only Rs 5,000 crore would have been deposited in the accounts. On reports of possible water cuts in Mumbai, Shinde said the city will face no water cuts.

“I want to clarify that we will be developing Mumbai Central Park on 320 acres of land at Mahalaxmi Racecourse, which includes 120 acres from Coastal Road. There will be no construction or no hotel as claimed by many,” he said.
