“Leaders of Yuva Sena, NCP(SP)’s youth wing and Youth Congress met last week. It was decided that a meeting of all the state level executive leaders of these youth fronts will be organised in Mumbai. We have also invited youth leaders of other parties in the INDIA front as well. This meeting is to plan communication, coordination and cooperation among youth workers of all these parties during the campaign for the Lok Sabha polls,” said Varun Sardesai, Secretary, Yuva Sena.
The March 6 programme is limited to state level office bearers of these youth wings. After the state level executive meet, the youth fronts will hold similar programmes at each Lok Sabha constituency. At the local level, MVA candidates will function as main organisers of these programmes and their respective party’s youth wing will work as conveners. The youth wings of other MVA parties will join in on the local level programmes.
Sardesai said that senior leaders of all political parties have already started campaigning for the elections as rallies are being organised and meetings are being held. “We are a country of youngsters. It is important that we display the support of youth to opposition candidates. By holding joint programmes at each of the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies, we will show the strength of youth in support of our candidates,” he said.
