NA not needed for housing projects cleared under DP

The decision will come into force once the government makes amendments in all the six parameters in line with the Centre’s guidelines.

The state government has decided to get rid of ‘No Agriculture’ (NA) land certificate for construction of houses on land which comes under Development Plan (DP).

The decision comes in the wake of the Centre’s guidelines under the Union Ministry of Urban Development and Housing to make ‘housing for all 2022’ project less hassle-free.

At the Cabinet meeting, it was indicated that there are six to seven guidelines which the Centre wants every state to pursue for all housing projects in phases. The Centre has indicated that once the DP plan is sanctioned by the authorities, it amounts to ensuring all safeguards to ensure there is no violation or exploitation of agricultural land. Therefore, when any housing project gets the nod under the DP plans, insisting on NA certificate is meaningless.
