Retired government servant Uttam Khobragade on Friday told the two-member Adarsh panel that according to him,it was not his duty to inform the state government that her daughter Devyani,a member of the Adarsh society had already been allotted a flat under the state governments 10 per cent quota.
She was allotted a flat in Meera co-operative housing society in Oshiwara in 2005. At the time,Uttam Khobragade was head of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).
On Friday,he was asked if he or his daughter was not duty bound to inform the state government about this fact when the application for Adarsh CHS membership was made.
He replied in the negative contending that in co-operative societies, members do not interact directly with the authorities and it was the societys responsibility to provide this information.
To an earlier question he admitted,I did not inform the society that Ms Devyani had been allotted a flat in Meera CHS.
The commission on Friday also recorded the statement of Seema Sharma,sister-in-law of former chief minister Ashok Chavan. In her statement, she admitted Chavans mother-in-law Bhagwati Sharma had not executed any document with Malav Shah ,who loaned her Rs 70 lakh for the latters flat in the housing society. Malav Shah is the son of Pune-based builder Jayant Shah.
