Rameez’s body to be exhumed

The parents have stated that they will cooperate fully during the investigations,and they had left the city as they were in a state of shock and wanted some rest,police said.Officers probing the case said that a decision has been taken to exhume Rameez’s body,for an autopsy as it was crucial to check whether Aluminium Phosphide is found in the lungs or in the stomach. This would give a clear indication of whether the chemical was ingested or inhaled by him.

A report on Rehab’s stomach wash had shown only traces of Alumunium Phosphide,and it was unclear whether she had inhaled or ingested the chemical. An autopsy on Rameez’s body could lead to a clearer impression since he died a few hours after the pest-control,while his sister died around 36 hours later,said sources.

“It is possible that Rameez’s body contains more quantity of the chemical,” said an officer. Following the exhumation,the viscera,stomach wash and lungs would be examined. The police have consulted experts who have said an autopsy can be conducted on the body to look for such clues,as the viscera would still remain intact.

“Although we do not require the permission of parents,we will take their consent,” said a police officer,who indicated that the parents were willing to cooperate on this aspect of the probe.

On the night of July 3,pest control was carried out at the sibling’s residence. When the two returned home they were unaware of the pest control operation and entered the room,and without opening the doors and windows,they switched on the air -conditioner. Rameez,Rehab’s brother and a homeopathic doctor,complained of sickness,started vomiting blood and was rushed to a general physician who declared him dead om arrival. Later that day Rehab showed similar symptoms and succumbed to the sickness 24 hours later.
