Senior citizen found dead

A 60-year-old woman was found dead in the bathroom of her residence in Malwani village on Monday. The body was found by the victim’s sister,who also stays in Malwani,after neighbours of the deceased informed her about a foul stench emanating from her house. The victim,Glory D’Silva,an unmarried woman was living alone and had been working as a domestic help until last year. The neighbours in their statement to the police have said they had not seen Glory for two days and thought she must have gone somewhere. But on Monday,when a foul odour started emanating from Glory’s residence,they contacted her sister.

Glory’s sister found her lying dead in the bathroom. The matter was reported to the police,who have registered a case of accidental death. Senior Police Inspector Jaywant Hargude of the Malwani police station said,“As per preliminary investigation,it looks like Glory slipped in the bathroom and died. We have not found any injury on her body and nothing seems to have been stolen from her home. However,we have sent her body to Bhagwati Hospital and are waiting for the postmortem report.”
