In 2008,when he was studying business as an exchange student at Cornell University in the US,Yudhisthir Agrawal decided to indulge his creative streak by taking up a playwriting course. The course required him to pen a play and thus Scarborough Fair was born.

Cut to now: Agrawal,a strategic advertising planner,is gearing up for the staging of his play on February 9 at Gallery Beyond as part of the ongoing Kala Ghoda Arts Festival. “After I got back from the US,I formed a theatre group called Last Minute Productions, along with Spandan Mishra from Rediffusion and other theatre loving friends. We are now re-staging this play after it premiered at the NCPA last June,” says Agrawal, also the lead actor and the director of the play. The plot revolves around heartbreak and reconciliation. It poses the question: does passion hurt or does it really heal? It brings together music, painting, choreographed dances and audio-video projections. “It’s an experimental collaboration of various artistes. We had a graphic designer friend help us for a live painting scene. Similarly,we also have two contemporary dance sequences, not to mention the videos and the Simon Garfunkel songs that form the backdrop of the story,” reveals Agrawal.
