Wanted a son,cop held for kidnapping infant

The next morning,when Ashok woke up,he discovered that his son was missing. He registered a missing person’s complaint with the Kasturba Marg police. During the investigation,police learnt that a beat marshal had seen two men in the locality near the hutment late on Monday.

Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Thakur from the Kasturba Marg police station said,“A beat marshal passing through the area had stopped and questioned the two men— Rathod and Parab—¿ around 3.30 am on Monday. However,the marshal left after Rathod showed him his credentials. On learning this,a police team was dispatched to Rathod’s residence in Andheri on Thursday afternoon where they found Ashish. The police arrested Rathod and after preliminary questioning arrested Parab from his residence in Goregaon. Ashish was later handed over to his family members.”

“When asked why he committed the crime,Rathod confessed that he was longing for a son and when he saw Ashish on the pavement,he decided to kidnap him,” added Thakur. Rathod and Parab have been booked for kidnapping.
