The two-day heavy downpour in the district has seen a whole lot of crops being washed away.
With two deaths,injuries and even cattle being swept away,the district administration has formed squads at the taluka level and a detailed report will be put submitted to the collector on November 16.
Resident deputy collector Anil Pawar said the teams are at work and reports are coming from all talukas. The final report will be put before the collector. There have been two deaths and compensation has to be given to the relatives.
Even for the crops destroyed,compensation will be given to those who have had a crop destruction of more than 50 per cent. For each crop there is a different compensation. For horticulture crops there is a different compensation from that of paddy and pulses. With the help of agri department,the Talathi and tehsildar a proper assessment will be done, he said. A squad has been readied in every taluka and they will get back with the details.
The district is supposed to have shown losses of crops spread across 8000 hectares. We are making separate entries for each crop and the compensation is being worked out, he said. It will be according to the government resolution. Even for the cattle there is compensation,said Pawar.
